Headway is on course to receive a big cheque thanks to the efforts of a group of staff. Headway is a registered charity with a local branch in Rookwood Hospital, Cardiff which provides help and support to people affected by brain injury.
Nine staff from Hafod undertook to walk the 3 peaks around Abergavenny including the Sugar Loaf, Skirrid and the Blorenge to raise money for Headway, Hafod's nominated charity of the year. The staff raised a £990 which was matched by Hafod resulting in an amazing donation of £1,980 Sally Cockerill, our Community Investment Manager said ‘It was a lovely dry day and the 360 degree view from the top of the Sugar Loaf was fantastic. Thank to Shaun McGregor for sorting out the route plan and getting us all organised.'
Well done to all involved who huffed and puffed up all the hills in just one day, especially Gwyn Phillips who was determined to get to all the trig points first resulting in a foot race with Nicky Pitman on the Blorenge!! No prizes to guess who won!
