Tenant Assessment Team Project A Success!!

This year Hafod has been working on an exciting project with three other Housing Associations, to train a team of Tenant Assessors. The team has been trained to assess landlord services using mystery shopping, telephone interviews and site visits. The first Tenant Assessors have carried out their first assessment and have designed a training toolkit for new Tenant Assessors.

The first Tenant Assessors have been involved with the project from the start and in the New Year, will be able to train other Hafod tenants to become Tenant Assessors too. They were rewarded for their efforts with a visit from Keith Edwards, Director of CIH Cymru, who gave all the new Tenant Assessors to give them Certificates of Achievement. Also on hand to praise the project were Carol Kay, Tom James and Sheilah Gaughan from the Welsh Assembly's Housing Division.

Hafod have developed the Tenant Assessment Team in partnership with Rhondda Housing Association, Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association and Cynon Taf Community Housing Group. It is a unique project, with tenants using a range of assessment techniques to objectively assess the services of each others' landlords.

Would you like to try your hand at mystery shopping? Would you like to call tenants of other landlords, to ask them about the services they receive? Anyone can be a Tenant Assessor - if you are a tenant of Hafod or the partner organisations and you would like to join the team and help us to make our services even better, please contact James Penfold, Tenant Participation Officer, on 029 2067 5865 or jpenfold@hafod.org.uk.
