Development

Hafod have an exceptional track record in building affordable homes to both rent and purchase across South Wales. Our vision is to create balanced and sustainable communities - this means building homes that are safe, well designed, aesthetically pleasing, environmentally aware and which are located in areas that people want to live and where quality of life can be sustained into the future. This means we take account of people's aspirations and lifestyles, as well as local economies when we build our developments.

We provide new homes in a number of ways, including acquiring land and suitable sites on the open market using both our own funding and/or funding provided by the Local Authority and the Welsh Assembly Government as well as partnering national house builders when it is a local planning requirement to provide affordable homes as part of a larger site (Section 106). We also purchase existing buildings and redevelop them to provide affordable accommodation.

All of our new homes whether they be change of use, rehab or newbuild meet and/or exceed the Development Quality Requirements laid out by the Welsh Assembly. In addition, all of our new build developments achieve Construction Excellence standard and we are committed to achieving both Eco Homes and Green Dragon (Level 2) standards on all developments.

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement we regularly consult with our residents and actually listen to the feedback we receive from them. That way, each of our new developments reflect the changing needs of our customers and take into account the way people actually wish to live in terms of layout, design and specification.

Both as an Association and as part of the Hendre Group we are always seeking new opportunities to provide affordable housing, whether that be through purchasing land, blocks of flats or large houses suitable for conversion. If you have a development opportunity that you feel may be of interest to us we would like to hear from you. Call 029 20675865 or email enquiries@hafod.org.uk
