Hafod Tenants Pass With Flying Colours

Hafod are helping more and more tenants to learn new skills and put them to use in their community.

Many of our tenants are eager to learn new things. Often they want to learn skills that they can put to use helping their neighbours, by running tenant associations, organising fun events or helping out at community centres. Sometimes they want to gain skills to help them find a new job, or just want to have fun and make new friends. Hafod can often help them to achieve their goals by arranging training in a variety of subjects.

Over the last year, Hafod tenants have been to training sessions in first aid, risk assessment, minute taking, accounts for tenant groups, food hygiene, safeguarding children, applying for grant funding, project management, computers for beginners, building a community website, breakaway techniques, jewellery making, art and crafts, money management, cookery for young people and many more.

Many courses led to formal qualifications and some young people attended residential courses in citizenship and outdoor pursuits. If you are interested in learning something new, look out for courses in your area or contact the Community Focus Team on 029 2067 5800
