Let's Celebrate

At the beginning of June, Hafod presented its fourth Volunteers Event to ‘celebrate’ the active involvement of over 30 tenant volunteers. The occasion was held in the National History Museum St. Fagans, Cardiff. This bi-annual event plays a part in raising the profile of our tenant volunteers who regularly contribute to their communities, whilst inspiring others to get involved.
The day was organised by Hafod tenants, Sue Gregory, Gill Kendall, Marj Milner, Margaret Steel and Francis Wilcox with support from Community Development Officer, Cerys Harries. The day aimed to celebrate, recognise, and reward the hard work, commitment and effort of our tenant volunteers.
Hafod tenant, Gaynor Watkins, of Fir Tree Drive thoroughly enjoyed the day, “It was a beautiful sunny day and we all enjoyed a buffet lunch after the morning’s workshop and activities. We met many new people who were able to share their ideas and experience of volunteering within their community.”
Marj Milner added, “This is one of the many pleasurable activities enjoyed by being a volunteer.”
It is not just Hafod that benefits from active volunteers. Other community groups and organisations also depend on Hafod tenants freely giving their time and expertise. Well done to all involved and keep up the good work!
