Youth Action Camp
With support from Hafod's Community Focus Team, ten young people attended an Action Camp this summer based within the grounds of Kiln Park, Tenby. Tenant volunteer, Marion Price, and Community Development Office, Cerys Harries, accompanied the young people aged 14 - 20 years on this 3 day residential. This wasn't all fun and games though, as the Camp covered a number of themes including child poverty, education, healthy living, citizenship and Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship.
Marion Price declared, "I was shocked, surprised, & over the moon at how much the kids had absorbed. Some of our young people can be difficult to engage, so it was wonderful to see them so excited about Action Camp".
The Youth Action Camp was a way of recognising and rewarding the efforts and contributions of the young people that have made a difference to the communities in which they live. All those participating also received a certificate and credits towards an ASDAN qualification.
