Arcon Tenant & Resident Association

The Association was ‘officially' formed on 4th July 2002, however it has existed unofficially since the estate in St Mellons was built in the late 1970's. The original tenants committee was created to address general community issues as and when they arose.

Our aim is to inform and encourage tenants' and residents' of all ages to participate in events and activities held at the Arcon estate. The committee meets on a monthly basis with a representative from both Hafod and local councillors.

We have worked with Hafod to bring together tenants and residents, both young and old, by putting on coach trips, children's parties, go-karting and rock climbing as well as various arts and craft activities. We have also organised hanging basket workshops and bulb and shrub planting throughout the Arcon estate. All of these have been very successful and enjoyed by all. We endeavour to carry on with these events in the future, although the demographics of the Arcon site have changed since the site was established.

We receive funding from Hafod and have also been successfully awarded an Arts Council Grant to assist with projects.

We are members of TPAS Cymru and the Welsh Tenants' Federation and attend the annual TPAS conference. We have also attended various training courses run by Hafod as well as some regional seminars hosted by the WTF.

We have 10 committee members in total including a Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. To learn more about our Association please write to 4 Blackbirds Way, Old St Mellons, Cardiff, CF3 5RE.
