New Developments
We would like to announce 2 new developments currently under construction in Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend.
Twyn-yr-Odin (Merthyr Tydfil)
Construction of the new scheme began in April 2009 and the development is due for completion in June 2010. The scheme was designed by Pentan Partnership and is being constructed by WRW Construction.
The scheme will consist of the following properties:
2 x 4 bed 6 person houses
7 x 3 bed person houses
13 x 2 bed 4 person houses
2 x 2 bed 3 person wheelchair bungalows
Each of these properties will meet Code Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The specific features each property will have are:
Vaillant Solar hot water systems
Rain Water Butts
Composting bins
Increased levels of floor, wall and roof insulation
High specification Argon filled windows
Enhancement of on-site ecology (bat/bird boxes, introduction of native plant species)
Houses orientated to maximise solar gains
Use of sustainable sourced materials throughout (e.g. FSC certified timber)
Coychurch Road - Coed Castell (Bridgend)
Construction of the new scheme began in February 2009 and the development is due for completion in January 2010. The scheme was designed by Willdig Lammie Partnership and is being constructed by Barratt Homes.
The scheme will consist of the following properties:
2 x 4 bed 6 person houses
24 x 3 bed 5 person houses
8 x 2 bed 4 person houses
12 x 2 bed 3 person apartments
6 x 1 bed 2 person apartments
Each of these properties will meet Code Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The specific features each property will have are:
Solar hot water systems
Photovoltaic cells to apartment block
Rain Water Butts
Composting bins for all units
Increased levels of floor, wall and roof insulation
High specification Argon filled windows
Houses orientated to maximise solar gains
Use of sustainable sourced materials throughout (e.g. FSC certified timber)
Use of two and a half storey dwellings to maximise the use of plot footprint.
