Anti-Social Behaviour
Standard
We will make sure that your home and community is a safe and enjoyable place to live. We will make full use of the wide range of actions open to us to ensure you do not suffer from excessive and unreasonable nuisance or anti-social behaviour.
How we will work to achieve this standard
We will:
• Take seriously all reported incidents of anti social behaviour.
• Recognise everyone's right to peaceful enjoyment of their home.
• Make clear to tenants what constitutes acceptable and unacceptable behaviour in accordance with the terms of the Tenancy Agreement.
• Provide dedicated officers trained specifically to deal with incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour.
• Deal with all reported incidents sensitively and in accordance with our confidentiality policy.
• Action all reported incidents within the Association's published timescales, according to the nature of the incident.
• Agree action plans with victims.
• Deal fairly and impartially with both the complainant and the alleged perpetrator of the incident, allowing both the opportunity to have their say.
• Keep both the complainant and the alleged perpetrator informed of progress throughout an investigation including explaining the full reasons for closing or suspending a case.
• Support complainants and witnesses throughout the course of an investigation, including support at court if this is required.
• Offer mediation in suitable cases.
• Work closely with other partners to identify and address anti social behaviour e.g. Police, victim support, environmental health departments etc.
• Not hesitate to use legal remedies available to the Association to remedy proven breaches of the Tenancy Agreement.
