Apprentices take the next step on their career paths

We’re thrilled to announce that our apprentices Alys, Keisha and Laura have all been successful in securing a permanent role with Hafod following their two-year apprenticeship programme.

Both Alys and Keisha have completed their level 2 and 3 in business administration while Laura, who joined the programme slightly later, is on track to achieve the same success shortly. These qualifications have helped them to develop new skills and support them on their career paths by learning while they work.

Since joining the organisation, all three have become familiar with the variety of services that Hafod offers as well as understanding how the organisation works. Over the last two years, they have focused on areas of the business which interested them the most and matched with their existing skillset.

Alys has spent the majority of her time with our Communications team where she has gained experience in drafting content and maintaining our social media channels and website as well as supporting corporate events and communications projects. Her new role as Communications Assistant will see her continue to build on these areas and broaden her experience further.

Keisha has mainly been based with our HR department focusing on learning and development which has seen her organise colleague inductions, deliver training and support the introduction of our academi. Going forward, Keisha will be our Learning and Development Facilitator who will be designing and maintaining training programmes in addition to her existing work.

Laura’s time has been with our IT team and has included new starter IT inductions, configuring computers, iPads and mobile phones along with setting up new user accounts. In her new position as IT Assistant she will continue to develop her skills and provide valuable IT support across the organisation.

Karen Rosser, our Executive Director of People and Change, said: “It’s really positive to see the journey our apprentices have been on over the last two years and I am delighted that they have successfully secured a permanent role with the organisation. They have an exciting future ahead and we are fortunate that they have chosen to work for Hafod and we will continue to focus on their growth and progression”.
