AWS re:Invent 2021: Helping our customers break out of isolation and connect through AI

Our Chief Executive, Jas Bains, and Director of Research and Innovation, Dr Jamie Smith, recently shared the story of Home Care at Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) re:Invent 2021. They talked about Side-by-Side’s work with Accenture and AWS to help our customers break out of isolation and connect through AI (artificial intelligence). Watch for yourself below:

Home Care, developed with Accenture and AWS, lowers the technology barrier for digitally isolated people and helps them stay connected and active through artificial intelligence.

Using an Amazon Echo Show Device and voice-enabled services, our customers have access to useful features, including easy search and sign up to social engagements, seamless connection to their Neighbourhood Coach, and checklists to help with their routines.

Home Care aims to keep people connected, maintain well-being and offer support around other challenges of being isolated and lonely. It also aims to overcome the challenges of access, affordability and skills in relation to technology, which have also been in the spotlight through the pandemic.
