Best friends and colleagues feature in campaign

We are extremely proud of our colleagues Keeli Morgan, Maintenance Surveyor/Energy Assessor and Michelle Llewellyn, Group Engagement Coordinator who have been chosen, along with four other pairs, to be the faces of the M&S Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign for 2018.

Today signals the launch of the campaign and the unveiling of Keeli and Michelle in window displays and in-store decor in M&S stores in Cardiff, Swansea and Newport (and across the UK!) – as well as on the M&S website.

The pair have worked together at Hafod for 10 years and have become best friends over time. However that bond has become a lot stronger over the last 12 months when they were both diagnosed with and underwent treatment for breast cancer.

They were chosen from around 40 applicants to take part in the 2018 Breast Cancer Now campaign in partnership with M&S. This years’ theme is not only to increase awareness of the partnership which aims to raise money for vital breast cancer research, but also to highlight the benefits of having someone to support you whilst going through your journey.

Michelle and Keeli told us: “The support we gave each other whilst going through diagnosis, and on-going treatment really made a difference as we were able to talk to someone who was going through similar things at the same time.” You can read more about their story on the M&S website.

Michelle and Keeli both have a message they would like to share. “Breast cancer can affect everyone (men and women) but the outcomes can be so much more positive if caught early so please look out for any signs and make sure you check yourself regularly”. Find out how here

They are also inviting colleagues to join them in supporting wear it pink day on 19th October to help raise vital funds for breast cancer research.
