Our Golau Caredig Extra Care Scheme recently joined forces with Home Instead and Three Peas Ceramics for a community crafting project. Three Peas Ceramics supplied beautiful ceramics and decoration packs for our residents’ socially distanced crafting session.
Residents painted a selection of festive decorations including baubles, robins and stockings. Paula from Three Peas Ceramics then collected the completed clay ornaments and fired them before returning them to our residents who have used them to decorate the Golau Caredig Christmas tree.
Colleagues Miles and Kerry at Golau Caredig helped to co-ordinate the session and couldn’t resist joining in too! Kerry told us that there was a real sense of community among our residents who were really enjoyed getting together in a safe and socially distanced environment to chat and paint. While other residents chose to take part from their apartments.
Crafting is a wonderful activity which offers people the chance to express creativity and practice mindfulness, which has been particularly beneficial this year.
