When our customers contact our customer services team, we ask them if they’d like to take part in our question of the month. In December our question of the month was: have you or someone in your home ever struggled to afford period products?
Out of the 147 customers who shared their experience, 87% said that they’ve struggled to afford period products. We know this is a wide spread problem, and we want to help. That’s why we‘re committing to finding out more about the affordability of period products for people in Wales.
Wales has made period products free for anyone of school age who needs them, but we want to make sure adults who may need help and support are catered for too. That’s why we’re launching a Wales wide survey to help us learn as much as we can about the issue and the impact it has on people’s day to day life.
The survey takes around four to five minutes to complete. We want to use it to test assumptions about demographic differences, so the survey contains optional questions about gender, ethnicity, religion etc. As these are questions about sensitive, personal information you are not required to answer them to complete the survey and all answers will be completely anonymous.
There will also be other opportunities for you to get involved in the project and you can leave your details at the end of the survey if you’d like to take part in further research.
