Masters success for Hafod staff

Huge congratulations to our colleagues Marc James and Rhiannon Eagle who have both graduated from the University of South Wales with a master’s degree.

Marc has been with us since 2005 and has been supported to progress his career in care.

He started as a care assistant at Picton Court care home in Porthcawl. In just two years he was promoted to personal care team leader and further promotion followed in 2015 when he joined Ty Penrhos care home in Caerphilly as deputy manager. This year Marc became the registered manager at our Brocastle Manor care home in Bridgend.

Marc achieved a merit in his MSc Health and Public Services Management.

Commenting on Marc, Linda Jenkins, Hafod’s Care Home Coordinator said:

“We are so proud of Marc. He achieved a merit however he was only one mark off a distinction. His achievements in his MSc have coincided with him becoming the registered manager at Brocastle.

I have worked with Marc for about 8 months ago and he is a pleasure to work with. He is so enthusiastic about everything he does and always goes the extra mile to achieve positive outcomes for the people he cares for. He is well thought of by families and respected by our regulators. In short, he is a great asset to Hafod Care.”

Rhiannon, joined us in July 2016 as an Employee Relations Advisor in our HR Department. Sh achieved a very impressive first-class MSc in HR Management.

Rebecca Ford, Hafod’s HR Manager, Employee Relations, commented:

“An amazing result and congratulations – a first! I believe this will be the first of many great achievements for Rhiannon. All that hard work paid off and both myself and the team are all so very proud of you. You are a real asset and pleasure to work with.”
