Scams Awareness Fortnight: are you #ScamAware?

This Scams Awareness Fortnight (14-27 June), we’re supporting the Citizens Advice campaign to help people be more #ScamAware.

This year’s campaign is focusing on the financial scams that have emerged due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Citizens Advice want to:

  • equip people with the knowledge and skills they need to recognise scams
  • empower people to take action by getting advice and reporting scams
  • encourage people to talk about their experiences and help others

Anyone can be scammed. People of all ages and backgrounds get scammed. It’s important to be on your guard.

If you’re not sure about something take your time and get advice.

You can call the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline at 0808 223 1133, or report scams to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.

You can also visit the Citizens Advice website for advice on scams.

Together, we can put a stop to people being scammed.
