Tenants settling into new £3 million housing development in Barry

We recently visited tenants at our latest development of new homes in Barry, with the Vale of Glamorgan Council, to see how they are settling in.

The development of 27 one and two bedroom flats on Woodlands Road has transformed a former disused park and provides much-needed homes for rent in an area of high demand.

A new home at Cwrt Parc has made a huge difference to Julie Falcon, age 53, who has mobility and various health needs. She said:

“I am thrilled with my new home. Hafod have been absolutely fantastic in organising everything for me to move. Because I’m disabled they made sure I had the right flat on the ground floor so ambulances can pick me up with ease. The flats are wonderful, they’re very light, it’s easy for me to move around in and I feel really safe.”

Cllr Margaret Wilkinson, Vale of Glamorgan Council cabinet member for Housing and Building Services, said: “It’s fantastic that, together with Hafod and contractors M&J Cosgrove Ltd, we have been able to provide new homes for people in a much sought-after area.

“Not only has this development created homes for people that needed them most, but it has also transformed a previously disused site into something beneficial for the local community.”
