Can I send you my CV?

Hafod does not normally accept CV’s as a form of application. We ask that all applications are completed through our online application form or you contact us to request a paper copy.

Can I apply for more than one vacancy?

If you are interested in the same position, but based at different locations, please get in touch with the Recruitment Team and we can transfer your application across to multiple locations.

I’ve submitted an application, when will I hear anything?

You will receive an email to confirm your application has been submitted successfully. Each position will be given a closing date and once this has passed, the manager will review all applications and all applicants will be contacted by phone or email to advise whether or not they have been shortlisted for an interview.

What qualifications are needed?

This is dependent upon the position you apply for and the criteria on the job description.  A job description with person specification is available for each vacancy and can be downloaded from the ‘find out more’ section under each vacancy advert.

Do I need experience or qualifications to apply for Care positions?

We do not ask for any formal qualifications, only a willingness to learn as full training will be provided.  What we are looking for are those who want to help makes lives better for our residents and service users.

I have a criminal conviction, am I still eligible to work for you?

It depends on the role you are applying for. Some roles are subject to a standard or an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We look at any history of criminal convictions carefully. The nature of the conviction will be assessed on a post by post and applicant by applicant basis. Our duty to protect vulnerable service users is paramount.

What is the selection process?

This is dependent upon the post applied for. Typically, when we receive applications they are short listed by the relevant manager. If you are successful at this stage, you will be invited to an individual interview. If you are successful at the interview, you are then offered a post within Hafod, subject to receipt of satisfactory pre-employment checks.

Are there any checks I need to go through before being employed?

All successful applicants are required to provide 2 references (one of which should be from your most recent employer), criminal declaration and, where relevant, a DBS certificate.

Do I have to pay for my own DBS Certificate?

No, Hafod pay for employee DBS checks and renewals.

How long does the recruitment process take?

If you are successful at interview, the time required to process an application is dependent upon the receipt of satisfactory pre employment checks. Typically, receipt of an enhanced DBS Certificate takes between 4 – 6 weeks.  Some delays can occur when reference details are incorrect or are delayed in being returned to us.  So please ensure details you give us are correct and any referees are made aware that we will be contacting them.

I have been invited to attend an interview; do I need to bring anything with me?

Your interview confirmation will detail anything you need to bring with you to the interview.

Do you reimburse travel expenses incurred for attending interviews?

Unless otherwise stated in the job advert, we are not able to refund any travel costs incurred for attending interviews.

Do I need a vehicle and a driving licence?

This is dependent upon the position for which you have applied and will be detailed within the job description.  If you do need a vehicle and driving licence as part of your role you will need to provide certain documents to us, such as your driving licence, car insurance, MOT certificate and V5 document.  This would all be confirmed before you commenced employment.

Will I receive feedback?

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to offer personalised feedback for each role as standard.  But if you feel it would be beneficial to have feedback please ask our HR team who will endeavour to assist.

I’ve been referred by a friend, what do I need to do?

If you’ve been referred by one of our employees, make sure you state this on your application.  You will be asked where you saw the vacancy advertised, so simply select ‘Referred by an existing Hafod employee’.  You will then be prompted to enter their name and we’ll do the rest.
