Now that the cold weather is here, we want you to know that Hafod has a contractor who grits certain sites during the winter months. This helps keep roads and paths safer when it’s icy.

The grit they use is clear, so it might not look like gritting has been done, but it has. Gritting usually happens overnight, between 6pm and 7am, when the temperature drops below a set level.

Please remember:

  • Not all Hafod roads and paths are gritted.
  • Even gritted areas can still be slippery.

So, please take care when walking or driving in freezing weather.
