Picton Court Care Home
Picton Court Care Home is set in attractive, spacious grounds with beautiful coastal and countryside views for over 55s in Porthcawl, near Bridgend, South Wales. We focus on giving a great quality of life to our residents, whatever their abilities and needs are.
Our team of specially trained staff provide tailored care to all of our residents, including those who require Elderly Mentally Infirm (EMI) care and those with dementia.
We pride ourselves on providing a happy, friendly and warm environment that lets residents be as independent or involved as their needs and wants allow.
What relatives say about Picton Court:
We strive to provide high quality residential, dementia and respite care. Our round-the-clock
care package is provided by our highly motivated, fully qualified and friendly staff. They do what’s necessary to meet the care needs of our residents, taking into account each individual’s situation and personalising the care to suit them.
On joining us at Picton Court, we assess each new resident so that we can ensure their current needs are identified and met. Throughout their stay, we monitor them closely so that we can increase the levels of care they receive over time, if necessary. We genuinely care about and value all of our residents, so we make sure that they are as happy and healthy as possible.
We have 76 bedrooms in total, divided into 42 nursing places, 21 residential places and 13 places for those who require Elderly Mentally Infirm (EMI) care.
The bedrooms are bright, airy, comfortable and generously sized. Each room has personal washing facilities, a telephone point and wardrobes with matching units and chairs. We are very happy for residents to bring some personal possessions with them so that they can make their rooms their own.
We have an on-site professional kitchen where our trained chefs prepare three home-made meals each day for our residents. There are multiple options at every mealtime and our experienced culinary staff can cater for specialist diets and individual needs as required. Meals are usually eaten in one of our three dining rooms, but it is perfectly fine for residents to eat in the privacy of their own rooms if they wish to.
We give our residents many chances to make friends, have interesting conversations and enjoy group activities. Every day there is something different for residents to take part in.
Regular activities include bingo, film nights, games, sing-alongs, arts and crafts, armchair exercise, cooking sessions and quizzes.
Picton Court has lots of break-out space where residents can take part in hobbies, catch up over cups of tea and spend quality time with their new and old friends and family. Our three communal lounges double up as function rooms, often used for fun sessions organised by our full-time activities coordinator.
