We’re pleased to introduce Adrian Burke, who joined Hafod as our new Chief Executive Officer this month.
Adrian has worked in housing, supported housing and care services for more than 26 years. During that time, he has helped people and communities across Wales and the UK. Most recently, he spent almost 10 years as the Chief Executive of First Choice Housing Association.
Adrian is passionate about making sure everyone has access to a good-quality home and the support they need to live well. He believes that listening to customers and colleagues is one of the most important parts of his role.
In his first video message to customers, Adrian shares a little about his background and what matters most to him.
Adrian says:
“Good decisions are made when leaders stay connected to the people and communities they serve. I want to be present, listen to our customers and understand what matters most to them.
“Everything we do is guided by our belief that a good home and strong community are crucial for wellbeing, putting our customers, tenants and residents at the centre of everything we do.”
Customers played a key role in the recruitment process. Sally and Roberta, members of our Scrutiny Panel, met candidates and shared their views, helping to ensure customer voices were at the heart of the decision. Both described the experience as positive and rewarding, with Roberta saying it inspired her to get even more involved in shaping Hafod’s future.
Adrian is looking forward to meeting customers, listening to their experiences and learning more about the communities we serve. He is committed to making sure Hafod continues to provide great homes and services, while helping more people access affordable housing in the future.
