CGI of new homes on site of the former Cowbridge Grammar School

The former school on Aberthin Road in Cowbridge was demolished in November 2024, making way for a new development of 34 homes.

In January this year, Encon Construction Ltd were appointed as construction contractor and work has now begun onsite. The homes will be made up of 30 apartments and four houses and are expected for completion in the summer of 2026.

As part of our ongoing commitment to social value, we have been working with Encon to support community initiatives that benefit local people.

Supporting local communities through our social value commitment

As part of the contract, Encon recently donated to two local charities, Mind in the Vale and the Vale Foodbank.

Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan supports around 7,800 people each year, offering both primary and secondary mental health care. The £500 donation made will help to support the frontline services they provide.

A further £500 donation was made to the Vale Foodbank to help provide essential supplies to individuals and families facing food insecurity. We’re committed to making a positive impact in our local communities, and supporting foodbanks is one of the ways we’re working to create meaningful change where it’s needed most.
