Customers and colleagues at Golau Caredig receiving an Easter egg donation

At Hafod, we’re committed to making a positive impact in our communities.

One of the ways we do this is through social value, by working with our partners to benefit our customers and communities in meaningful ways.

This Easter, that commitment was on full display. We received a generous donation from our food supplier Brakes UK, which enabled us to purchase 400 Easter eggs. We then received a donation from our friends at ION Strength and Conditioning in Cardiff, followed by Hafod colleagues also donating Easter eggs to share with our customers and communities.

A Sweet Treat at Golau Caredig

As part of the initiative, over 500 Easter eggs were donated, with each customer at Golau Caredig extra care scheme in Barry receiving a special Easter treat.

Gemma Watkins, Customer Sector Marketing Manager at Sysco, said:
"We were thrilled to support Hafod in spreading some Easter joy by helping to provide over 400 Easter eggs for customers.

"As Hafod’s trusted food supplier, we’re proud to play a part in delivering fresh, high-quality meals across its care homes and extra care schemes. But our commitment goes beyond food, it's about making meaningful contributions in our communities.

"Visiting Golau Caredig extra care scheme in Barry to hand-deliver Easter eggs was a real highlight, it was heartwarming to see so many smiles as customers received their sweet treats."

Easter Fun Across Our Communities

With help from our Social Value Fund and support from contractors and suppliers, our dedicated Housing Coaches organised Easter events in communities across Barry, Bridgend, Cardiff, Cwmbran, and Merthyr Tydfil.

In Powis View, Barry, families enjoyed a sunny skip day and Easter-themed activities, while in Fir Tree Drive, Merthyr Tydfil, our Easter party was a huge hit, complete with a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny! Easter eggs were shared with customers and local community members at each of our events, a lovely way to bring a smile to someone’s face.

We’re delighted that through social value, over 500 Easter eggs were shared with our communities, a simple but powerful gesture.

Of their donation of Easter eggs, Rob, Director at ION Strength and Conditioning, shared:
“We partnered with Hafod for the Easter egg appeal because it’s the little things, like a chocolate egg that can make a big difference. It’s a simple way to spread some joy, and a reminder that we can all play our part in supporting our local community.”
