TPAS Cymru Good Practice Awards 2025

It was a hugely successful night for Hafod at the annual TPAS Cymru Best Practice Awards, as we took home an award in every category we were shortlisted for!

After submitting nine nominations and being shortlisted for four awards, we were thrilled to be the most successful housing association of the evening with four awards!

In the first award of the evening, Hafod tenant Sean O’Sullivan picked up a third place award in the “Tenant of the Year” category.

Sean, a resident at Fir Tree Drive, is a member of our Scrutiny Panel, he also helps out at Fir Tree Drive Community Centre, .egularly contributes to our Connect e-newsletter, as well as regularly helping out with many other projects in his community and across Hafod.

Sean said, “What a fantastic evening, I was surprised to be shortlisted, so to win an award I’m bowled over. I’d say to any tenants, come and get involved.”

And the awards continued! Next was a new award for 2025, “Outstanding Staff Contribution”. Our Community Engagement Manager Michelle McGregor was nominated not only by a colleague and but also by members of the Scrutiny Panel, which shows how much of an impact she has made (and continues to make) within the realm of tenant engagement and beyond. Michelle has been a driving force putting tenant engagement at the heart of what we do and continually drives to engage tenants to help shape our services.

Michelle said, “It’s an honour to win this award, especially as I was nominated by our customer Scrutiny Panel and colleagues. Although this is an individual award, putting customer involvement as a golden thread throughout Hafod takes a whole team approach.”

We then won second place for our Physical Adaption Group (PAG) in the "Involving Tenants in Reviewing Services" category.

Project Surveyor Travis Coldwell and a panel of colleagues and customers do excellent work in helping to shape and influence decision making around physical adaptations.

Travis said, “It’s great to have customer voice on our PAG panel who support us to make the right decisions that enable customers to live independently in their homes.”

And we weren't finished there! In one of the final awards of the evening, we took second place for our “Here for You” campaign, in the "Resident Advice and Support" category. This campaign includes our Back to School and Christmas Kindness campaigns and has had a huge impact on the lives of a number of our tenants.

Ceri, our Community Investment and Partnership Lead and Jade, our Support Manager said, “We are really proud of this project delivered by our Homes and Communities and Support teams. This project highlights the different ways we are here for tenants, especially with financial support.”
