atch out for potential scams

A customer has reported that they recently received a telephone call from a withheld number from someone claiming to be from Hafod.

The caller requested a payment of £400 for rent arrears and said they would pay it into the account.

The customer thought something wasn’t right and did the right thing, not to pay and report it to their neighbourhood coach. This turned out to be a scam.

Please be aware of potential scams. If you think something isn’t right, please get in touch with your neighbourhood coach, support worker or contact us on 0800 024 8968 or enquiries@hafod.org.uk.

Always be extra careful when you are asked for personal information or payment, whether it be in person, on the telephone, by email or text message.

Here’s some tips on how to stay safe:

  • Don't share any personal information
