We are delighted to welcome Fahzia to Hafod for her Get into Housing placement with our Customer Experience team.
Fahzia has a background in administration and has previously volunteered for children’s groups. During her 16-week paid placement, Fahzia will spend her time with Customer Experience as a customer service advisor, covering all areas of the team’s work with the aim of gaining as much experience of our services as possible.
Following the success of its inaugural year, the project has returned for 2023 with funding from Principality Building Society.
The project provides participants with experience, training, and access to employment opportunities with the long-term goal of gaining meaningful careers within, and outside, the housing sector.
This year the project hopes to reach more people as the criteria has widened to accept applications from people living across the whole of south Wales, who are over 18 and are currently unemployed and identify as being from an ethnically diverse background.
Talking to Fahzia, she told us what attracted her to the project and what she hopes to get out of the placement. She said: “I wanted to return to work after taking time out to raise my family.
“Housing is such an important part of people’s lives and I want to do a job which I can be passionate about. This opportunity will challenge me and I’m looking forward to speaking to a variety of different people to help solve their problems.”
