We are thrilled to welcome our second Get into Housing placement, Hanna Khan, who recently joined our Procurement team.
Hanna has an accounting and finance degree which she felt was a good match with the procurement role opportunity and suited her current skillset, which she hopes to expand.
During her 16-week paid Get into Housing placement, Hanna will work as a Procurement Support Administrator, gaining insight and experience of the team’s varied work, as well as learning about the wider organisation and the range of services Hafod delivers.
The aim of the project is to provide participants with experience, training, and access to employment opportunities with the long-term goal of gaining meaningful careers within, and outside, the housing sector.
Talking to Hanna, she explained to us why she applied to the project and what she hopes to get out of the placement. She said: “Although I’ve got a finance-based degree, I want to explore the different type of roles and jobs available in the finance field.
“I am looking forward to experiencing what procurement has to offer while developing my skills. I also want to learn more about Hafod and decide if housing or procurement is a career I’d like to pursue.
“I’ve enjoyed getting to meet the team and understanding a bit more about the roles they play. I’ve also enjoyed learning how to use SharePoint and building upon my previous skills of Excel.”
All the best for your placement, Hanna!
