A Great Place To Work
Our colleagues took part in our very first Great Place to Work survey in spring 2021 to share their experience and views about what it’s like working at Hafod. Whether it was good, bad or indifferent, we wanted to hear it!
Our aim is to further understand our workplace culture and importantly measure levels of trust within Hafod so that we can take action to improve our colleagues’ experience in work.
Our results
What our colleagues told us gave us an overall trust index of 66% which means we’re certified as a great place to work.
While we’re thrilled to be recognised by Great Place to Work, we also know there’s lots more we can work on to improve everyone’s time at work. This is just the beginning for us; we’ll be using our colleagues’ feedback to take action about the things that matter the most to them.
What defines us
Working at Hafod is more than just a job. As a socially conscious organisation, our colleagues work together to ensure our customers come first and are at the heart of all our decisions.
Our colleagues directly impact and improve the lives of our customers on a daily basis and share a passion for making lives better every day.
What inspires us
We are a socially conscious and family-friendly organisation with a vision of making lives better for our customers and communities.
Health and well-being is a priority for us and that’s why we provide a free well-being medical benefit for all colleagues in work and at home, including their families.
The ability to develop our colleagues throughout their career is something we are really proud of. Our in-house academi provides a range of courses, programmes, resources and experience to support all our colleagues on their learning journey, from induction, to qualifications and on to leadership development, helping them to achieve their career goals.
Action highlights
Our people strategy is created to provide our colleagues with great days at work. As part of our commitment to investing in our people, we began a five-year journey in 2018 to improve the terms and conditions for our front line colleagues in Care, Support and Property services.
This commitment initially saw the roll out of a new contract to all front line colleagues which provided them all with improved pay rates to be above living wage, increased holiday entitlements with length of service, improved sick pay for long term absences and access to an employee assistance programme (EAP), well-being resources and online discounts for themselves and their families.
Subsequent years have seen us invest not just in pay rates, which we’ve continued increasing above living wage, but also the overall benefits and we’ve recently provided all our colleagues with a death in service benefit and access to an online well-being and medical cash plan.
We will continue investing in our colleagues to ensure great days at work.
